thanks msCutePants

Posted by littleindian on September 3, 2008. |

Away from my usual hideout,
in Kolkata, tucking in the traditional ileesh fish and rice – and all things tasty and nice,
I was surprised to receive an email alert from my blogspage that my site had received an award!!!

From an old (blogging) friend of mine – MsCutePants of ISLAS BELLAS.

As I am unable to attend in person, this is my acceptance speech beamed through broadband –

As my friends know,
I have not written anything for months,
so it not only was a surprise, its nice to know I still have my friends,
even more my previous efforts, however amateurish, have not been forgotten.

The Award:

The Brilliant Blog Award

The Brilliant Weblog Award
is given to sites and blogs that are smart and brilliant both in their content and their design.
The purpose of the prize is to promote as many blogs as possible in the blog sphere.

The rules to be followed are:

1. When you receive the prize you must write a post showing it, together with the name of who has given it to you, and link back to them.
2. Choose a minimum of 7 blogs (or even more) that you find brilliant in content or design.
3. Show their names and links and leave them a comment informing them that they have been awarded with the ‘Brilliant Weblog’ award.
4. Show a picture of those who awarded you and those you give the prize to (optional).

I know there are many blogs, many more than seven that deserves this award.
More than I.

I have been away from the blogs world for a long time,
many of the bloggers I used to enjoy reading I find no longer writes.
So I will browse through my blogroll and blogsurfer for my nominations.
I apologise for being unable to name all in one go, I’ll keep adding to my list as I go along.

Nominations:

These are the blogs that truly deserves this award.

1. Nikita of Chessalee
she is passionate about chess – and loooooooooves cricket. Something in the lay out of her site that makes it a pleasure to visit

2. Mahak at Mind flirting with thoughts
not just because her blog is always attractive, nor because she writes on many subjects, but I have found many of my thoughts reflected in her writings.

3. Allirekha of My desert which is always green. I found this blogger through a comment she left on my site. I was amazed to find she is only 15, the youngest blogger I have come across. A blog I visit whenever I have the time to blog hop.

I will be completing the list gradually. Patience, they say, is a virtue.

5 September I have found my next two nominations.

4. Naj at Neo-resistance Her blog it says is about fairness; about looking at objects from multiple perspectives – and has always lived up to it. To me that is priceless. Her presentation is artistic.

5. Zenfrog at The Zenfrog for true peace. I am unable to describe the peace and tranquility of this site, you have to experience it yourself.

5 September Someone for whose blog this award is taylor made.

6. Has to be My Soul at Experiments in Writing. “A dreamer with the head in the Clouds and feet on the Ground”. This blog is way past the experimental phase and has been lifted into its own orbit.

23 September And after a long long search I have found my last nomination.

7. It is Rupsa at Life, death and across. She seems new in the world of blogs. I almost accidentally found her site – the name intrigued me. I found a blogger who thinks laterally, an attribute I always admire. Hopefully this award will encourage her to continue to share her thought.

Finally:

Yeah, yeah –
I know, in true ‘Oscars’ fashion I have been rambling,
but I would like to say thanks to

1. MsCutePants – this award might bring me out of my bloglethargy.
2. Ruff – the tuff scruff – my blog logging friend who always sits next to me when I write.

ADDED ON 6th SEPTEMBER

I am one to always challenge the norms, the rules.
So deviating from the above rules of the award, and risking my friend’s disappointment
I say to my nominees,
I leave it to you to decide if you wish to continue to nominate –
after all its aimed to bring recognition to others who also deserve to be known.

I accept it is not always easy to perpetuate awards.

So you can defer nominations to when its convenient for you,
or stagger it as I have been doing
or simply accept the award.

Whatever you choose is fine by me.
I would be happy if you accept and display the award – for you truly deserved it.

  1. SO continuing on from the previous comment and from what you left on my blog, I don’t know why I thought you were a woman, Little Indian. No matter what response I give you it’s going to come out so ridiculously stereotypical, so I shall refrain. BUT this entire time when I would comment on your pup and refer to you as the pup’s Mommy, didn’t you ever wonder why I kept saying Mommy when clearly I should have been saying Daddy???

I think I just gave your blogger friends MORE ammunition and it will probably be a while before they pick themselves off the floor.

I am glad you’re going to come out of your bloglethary though. At least some good has come of this award/revelation.

  2. Thanks MsCP,
now you mention it, I do remember you referring to me as Ruff’s mummy.

Ruff is a simple little soul – (and I believe he had birth trauma that has left him with some learning disability.)

As my bloglogging partner he accepted your reference, I guess I went with it.

Never mind, if you still are a friend, my friends can roll and rock on the floor. 😀

  3. hi Little Indian! Thanks for the award! You’re so cute! and I do appreciate it…big hug to Ruff and a stroke of course! and a little kiss on that cuty nose…but I can’t see the image of the award..only a red cross, don’t know if it’s my pc…I copied the properties of the image and then I could view it…just thought to let you know…thank you again!..I hope you’ve found mine to you on my blog! 🙂

  4. […] award for my blog and this time by Little Indian! which I receive with much appreciation, Little Indian! I’ve started recently reading […]

  5. hi Little Indian…I think you’ve missed the side bar of my blog.. 🙂 and I hope you’ve read the post…”green grass of home” 🙂

  6. I am still to realize if I like awards or find them nuisance!! Giving awards is the most happening thing happening in blogosphere- people are writing more about how they feel on 20k hits or 30k hits !! I don’t know- I can’t write a post on the number of hits that I have.Blogosphere is also becoming like networking site- you know like Facebook or something….Neither do I care about the hits…Blogging is my space-wherein I write what I want to…..and I am sure that’s what you’re here for!

BUT…you know I am really happy to see this award comming from you- I really really like your mind’s flirting!!It means a lot to get it from someone I share an intellect level with!
    Cheers! 🙂

  7. THANK you … you are great! and I am honored!

  8. Hey thanks a lot !!!!!!!!
what to say man! im really thankful, i never ever thought tht my name wud be nominated !:)
    n nice poem 🙂

  9. Hello littleindian

First I apologize for the late answer, but I have been quite busy lately.

Many thanks for the nomination. I really appreciate it. However, in spite of being happy and honored, I feel that an award is a bit awkward on the ZenFrog. Zen and Buddhist philosophy don’t seem to get along with awards. There is some contradiction here, a clash of culture thing.

Additionally I think that people running more personal blogs deserve it. My blog is not really me, it’s just a presentation of a culture that I admire (and think represents the truth) and only occasionally I do some personal writing.

And a question: didn’t you know ZenFrog was me, Dissident?. The reason I ask is that your writing style was a bit solemn, as if you contacted somebody you didn’t know.

But again thanks for picking ZenFrog and nice to have you back. I have made several visits to your blog and was wondering whether something was wrong due to lack of new posts.

    Best regards

    Dissident

  10. Congrats !! you sure deserver …I hope you do get to post more…although I hardly comment on all post….just few…but have always liked your forthright approach and some of those out of the box thoughts !!

    Tk care ~

  11. Part of online confusion is that people change names and URLs so that they don’t actually hit you over the head with their presence. If I didn’t actually run checks to see who was posting – though RSS updates are very handy – and run an occasional Google search ( so-called ‘vanity searches’ on Google and Technorati help a lot ) – I’m sure I would feel much more secluded.
There is no quota for posting ! Congratulations on the award recognition – which is simply a way of saying thanks for sharing your thoughts ; and of course you ‘pass it on’.
I’m off WordPress and don’t access their tools anymore, but you can find me at Opit’s Linkfest ( oldephartte rather cut the intraining ) http://my.opera.com/oldephartte/blog/ where I am enjoying my new community.

  12. Congratulations! It took me a while to sit down here. I do hope you post more often. I like your straightshooting writes.

Also, Thank you very much for the nomination. :). It did catch me by surprise, especially since I thought Poem-blogs are the ones with the least traffic. Feeling humbled and honoured for your encouragement and appreciation.

  13. You are welcome, Mysoul.
I find the less traffic blogs more interesting –
they are always a bit different than the usual run of the mill.

I am not a connoisseur of poems,
but I can appreciate the thoughts that are conveyed.

If you were causght by surprise,
then, in my mind, the nomination is appropriate.

And a thankyou to you for accepting it.
