Aether exists … it’s all Maya

Ever since I watched this video, I have had this thought, what if the Aether is what in Hindu scriptures is referred to as Brahman?

Aether

In this video, [At 16:24] Mr Wallace Thornhill states:

There is a polarisable material Aether, which fills the Universe and connects all matter instantly by the electric force.

The Aether is a polarisable perfect fluid of neutral particles which pass through atoms and celestial bodies practically as if they weren’t there – neutrinos fit the description.

Brahman

What if:
Aether is what was known to ancient Hindu Sages as Brahman.
Earliest mention is in the Rig Veda and described as

The highest universal principle, the ultimate or absolute reality that binds everything in the universe together as one.
It is the essence of all that can be experienced, although it itself remains unseen.
It is the single binding unity behind diversity in all that exists in the universe.
It is final cause of all that exists.

In which case EVERYTHING in the Universe IS AETHER.

What if:
Mendeleev was right in speculating Element X as Aether, as the building block of every other forms of matter. Then every known and objects yet unknown in the Universe, is made up from AETHER.

We do not have an Aether wind flowing past us, because WE ARE ALL AETHER. The Earth and everything on it and within it is AETHER. In the vastness of the Aether universe, we are just infinitesimally small specks of Aether WITHIN the Aether medium.

If so, we may never be able to confirm existence of Aether by experiments.
Michelson-Morley’s instruments failed to detect Aether, because if it pervades every object as if “they do not exists” it just went through their instruments too.

But Carl Sagan had once said, “Absence of Evidence is not Evidence of Absence”.

Maya

Then how can we visualise our universe and all that is created out of Aether?

That brings in the concept of Maya.

Maya has many interpretations.
One such is

Maya is thus that cosmic force that presents the infinite brahman (the Aether) as the finite phenomenal world.

What if:
the real meaning of Maya has been lost in various interpretations through the ages?

What if:
Maya is the “fine tuning” of our external senses to perceive the creations of the universe as it appears to us?

Consider our visual spectrum: a very narrow band within the entire spectrum of EM radiation. Even a small shift towards either end of the spectrum will radically change the appearance of objects as we see them.

What if:
our senses were so tuned deliberately by our creator(s) to make us visualise the universe as they want us to see it.

What if, Brahman / Aether is the essence of all that can be experienced, although it itself remains unseen, while Maya is what enables us to perceive various manifestations of an otherwise invisible Aether?

I believe, the Aether was described long ago in our scriptures as Brahman, but I cannot find any one who has tried to connect the two. Perhaps because few now dare talk of existence of aether.

what ifs?

are the results of a substitious mind drifting laterally
from the thoughts and beliefs of the norm, cannot be proved, cannot be disproved either – littleindian

Addendum:

I emailed this to Mr Wallace Thornhill on 10th August 2022.
He hasn’t laughed it off yet.
