Away from my usual hideout,
in Kolkata, tucking in the traditional ileesh fish and rice – and all things tasty and nice,
I was surprised to receive an email alert from my blogspage that my site had received an award!!!
From an old (blogging) friend of mine – MsCutePants of ISLAS BELLAS.
As I am unable to attend in person, this is my acceptance speech beamed through broadband –
As my friends know,
I have not written anything for months,
so it not only was a surprise, its nice to know I still have my friends,
even more my previous efforts, however amateurish, have not been forgotten.
The Award:
The Brilliant Weblog Award
is given to sites and blogs that are smart and brilliant both in their content and their design.
The purpose of the prize is to promote as many blogs as possible in the blog sphere.
The rules to be followed are:
1. When you receive the prize you must write a post showing it, together with the name of who has given it to you, and link back to them.
2. Choose a minimum of 7 blogs (or even more) that you find brilliant in content or design.
3. Show their names and links and leave them a comment informing them that they have been awarded with the ‘Brilliant Weblog’ award.
4. Show a picture of those who awarded you and those you give the prize to (optional).
I know there are many blogs, many more than seven that deserves this award.
More than I.
I have been away from the blogs world for a long time,
many of the bloggers I used to enjoy reading I find no longer writes.
So I will browse through my blogroll and blogsurfer for my nominations.
I apologise for being unable to name all in one go, I’ll keep adding to my list as I go along.
Nominations:
These are the blogs that truly deserves this award.
1. Nikita of Chessalee –
she is passionate about chess – and loooooooooves cricket. Something in the lay out of her site that makes it a pleasure to visit2. Mahak at Mind flirting with thoughts –
not just because her blog is always attractive, nor because she writes on many subjects, but I have found many of my thoughts reflected in her writings.3. Allirekha of My desert which is always green. I found this blogger through a comment she left on my site. I was amazed to find she is only 15, the youngest blogger I have come across. A blog I visit whenever I have the time to blog hop.
I will be completing the list gradually. Patience, they say, is a virtue.
5 September I have found my next two nominations.
4. Naj at Neo-resistance Her blog it says is about fairness; about looking at objects from multiple perspectives – and has always lived up to it. To me that is priceless. Her presentation is artistic.
5. Zenfrog at The Zenfrog for true peace. I am unable to describe the peace and tranquility of this site, you have to experience it yourself.
5 September Someone for whose blog this award is taylor made.
6. Has to be My Soul at Experiments in Writing. “A dreamer with the head in the Clouds and feet on the Ground”. This blog is way past the experimental phase and has been lifted into its own orbit.
23 September And after a long long search I have found my last nomination.
7. It is Rupsa at Life, death and across. She seems new in the world of blogs. I almost accidentally found her site – the name intrigued me. I found a blogger who thinks laterally, an attribute I always admire. Hopefully this award will encourage her to continue to share her thought.
Finally:
Yeah, yeah –
I know, in true ‘Oscars’ fashion I have been rambling,
but I would like to say thanks to
1. MsCutePants – this award might bring me out of my bloglethargy.
2. Ruff – the tuff scruff – my blog logging friend who always sits next to me when I write.
ADDED ON 6th SEPTEMBER
I am one to always challenge the norms, the rules.
So deviating from the above rules of the award, and risking my friend’s disappointment
I say to my nominees,
I leave it to you to decide if you wish to continue to nominate –
after all its aimed to bring recognition to others who also deserve to be known.
I accept it is not always easy to perpetuate awards.
So you can defer nominations to when its convenient for you,
or stagger it as I have been doing
or simply accept the award.
Whatever you choose is fine by me.
I would be happy if you accept and display the award – for you truly deserved it.
